Messy Books Don’t Just Look Bad — They Hide Profit Leaks.
Construction & Trade Financial Systems | QuickBooks Setup • Cleanup • Monthly Support
If you’re busy, landing work, and still feel like the numbers don’t fully match reality, you’re not alone. In construction and project-based trades, “standard bookkeeping” often misses the structural pieces needed for job costing, retainage, and progress billing. Those gaps quietly distort margins and cash flow visibility — and that’s where profit leaks start.
Lehman Financial Strategy helps contractors and subcontractors build, repair, and maintain financial systems that reflect how project-based businesses actually operate.

The Problem
Construction and trade businesses don’t fail because they’re not working. They get squeezed because financial visibility breaks as the workload grows.
Common signs of a “profit leak”:
-
You’re busy, but cash feels tight
-
You can’t clearly answer what each active job is making right now
-
Retainage doesn’t match what you believe you’re owed
-
Progress billing is messy or inconsistent
-
Payroll, materials, and subcontractor costs aren’t landing cleanly by job
-
You don’t trust your P&L or balance sheet month to month
-
Your CPA can do taxes, but the books aren’t built for construction operations
Most of the time it’s not one big mistake — it’s small structural gaps that compound as project volume increases.
The Solution
Construction-specific financial systems and reporting alignment. The goal is simple: clean, reliable numbers that show true job margins, support billing, and restore confidence in decision-making.

Clear understanding of whether profit leaks exist.

About
With more than 25 years of financial experience, I’ve built my career around helping businesses understand their numbers and use them to make better decisions.
I am a QuickBooks ProAdvisor Level II, with deep experience building financial systems, cleaning up complex books, and creating reporting structures that give business owners real visibility into their operations.
My connection to the construction and trades industry is also personal. My brothers and my late husband spent their careers in construction and trade businesses, and when they launched their own companies, I stepped in to help build and scale the financial systems behind them. As those businesses grew, I developed the processes needed to support multiple active projects, job costing, cash flow management, and millions in revenue.
That hands-on experience taught me how construction and trade businesses truly operate — and how the financial structure behind them must function to keep projects profitable and cash flow healthy.
I’m also a mother of two children, two adopted children, and a proud grandmother of two, so building strong systems, staying organized, and keeping things running smoothly comes naturally to me both at home and in business.
I’m extremely detail-oriented, financially disciplined, and operationally focused, and I genuinely enjoy digging into the numbers to uncover what’s really happening inside a business.
When I work with clients, I approach their businesses the same way I approach my own family’s — hands-on, invested, and committed to building financial clarity and long-term stability.
